Course Description
Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept; it is currently transforming the legal profession. From automated contract review and predictive decision-making in courts, AI is reshaping how legal services are delivered and how justice is administered. Participants will explore the foundational principles of AI and machine learning, assess the capabilities and limitations of AI tools used in legal practice, identify ethical, constitutional, and regulatory challenges posed by AI, and critically evaluate the evolving role of legal professionals in AI oversight, policy, and governance.
Who is this Course For? This course is designed for legal professionals, policymakers, and law students with no prior or basic knowledge of artificial intelligence or its application in legal practice, offering a foundational understanding to facilitate deeper engagement with emerging AI tools and resources.
Learning Objectives: Participants will gain familiarity with AI technology, explore its integration into legal practice and the judiciary, and assess the evolving legal frameworks that govern its use. Through case studies and applied legal analysis, the course will prepare participants not only to work effectively with AI but also to understand its legal, ethical, and practical implications. Participants will be better positioned to fulfil their professional obligations to clients and the courts, to uphold the integrity of the legal system, and to contribute thoughtfully to the responsible governance of AI in society.
